I woke up early this morning, looking forward to working outside in the garden a little before the kids got up. As I came downstairs I couldn't imagine why the house was so cold. Yesterday was beautiful and warm... it felt like summer...but the temperature in the house this morning was only 58 degrees!  (brrrrr....)  There were a couple of windows cracked open downstairs, but I just didn't think it could be all that cold outside. So I checked the temperature and realized I was wrong.... it is really cold outside. It's only 35 degrees out there (with the sun!) so it looks like I won't be doing any gardening this morning.

Ahhh... springtime in Colorado.... a confusion of seasons.

Wow, what a huge temp swing! That's a chilly way to wake up!!!

... never been there, but here it can be freezing in the am and terribly hot in the day...maybe it will warm up lots and you can get out and get some fresh air --- doing something fun  ;)

I was pretty shocked by the weather this AM too.  DH got me out of bed early to take my car in for an Alignment & tune up.  So I get out of bed and put on jeans & a T-shirt and go downstairs to see DH putting on a coat..."is it really that cold?"  He says it's 40something...so I grab my coat.

My car is all fixed (well, not the deer damage!) and they gave me an oil change for free too...because the guy had started to do it before the manager could tell him not to.  hee hee.  And then DH finally painted my windshield wipers (the paint had come off so they were reflecting the sun into my eyes) much better now.

And I made potato salad too...but the onion was really strong in it.  I don't think anyone likes me (or at least my breath) anymore...they of course don't eat potato salad.

I would give anything to live in Colorado. We are geared up for it, and working towards the move. But we are waiting for God to tell us to go He has been clear that we will go one day, but we have things to accomplish here first.

We are really interested in the Granby area, between Grand Lake and Winter Park. We have a friend who lives there, and it is just LOVELY. I cannot wait to make it our home

Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for coming and visiting my blog.  I haven't posted too much about our journey with our oldest.  It has been long and complicated and extremely stressful.  Our journey with our younger son has not been nearly as "exciting".  He is growing up way to quickly for this mom's liking.  We are looking at transition services and getting him training in a vocation.  He has many skills and if they are taught correctly, he can do lots.

About 10 days ago I woke up to the furnace running - dh had left one of the living room windows open and it got ccccold in there.  I was really surprised.  This week it was in the 90's and this week is to be "normal".  I don't know normal is anymore :o)

Maura , believe me I know it is not my best moment when I feel the pressure from parents who for some unconscious or pragmatic (funding stream) reason wants me to transcribe their diagnosis onto the chart, frequently speaking in cruel pathologizing terms with their child at their elbow. Most uncomfortable when it comes along with so many other externalizing qualities like bitterness directed at me before we have engaged or entitlement or constantly rejecting supportive efforts etc... I don't want you to think it is the norm, maybe I should reword it, in fact I will. But as much as I want to believe with faith that all parents have their children's best interests at heart in a loving way, and they are the majority by far, sometimes it is simply not the case. I take your point to heart, but there are things we feel and think about others (especially under the pressure of a demanding parent in a clinical interview, that I have to be aware of and acknowledge within myself so I don't act on those feelings, but rather use them to help me be that much more empathic and supporting.
